I'm Anna Verney, an Australian writer based on Gadigal land in Sydney. My work has been published in The Guardian, Island, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Newtown Review of Books, among others.

I'm currently completing a Masters of Creative Writing at The University of Sydney, where my studies have been generously supported by the Janet O'Connor Scholarship.

When I'm not writing, I practise as a lawyer with a particular interest in international law and human rights issues, having worked on legal and policy reforms to better protect child and adult victim-survivors of sexual assault and First Nations people with disability.
